Stella’s Story

When Robert Rowland was the Pastor we had some fantastic visiting preachers including Lindsay Clegg and Geoffrey King.   My older sister Pauline and I both attended Blackburne House.  She invited some of her friends to come to church and they soon became regulars.  We went on a holiday to Kloster Arnstein in Germany with Mr and Mrs Rowlands and a group of girls from the Tab.  Girls I can remember were Muriel Crosby, who was later to become a missionary with her husband Robert, Grace Rowland and Barbara Bird. We learnt some choruses in Germany and had a great time and enjoyed wonderful fellowship. We had some great preachers and sermons.  One was Stuart Briscoe and I think Geoffrey King, too. We also went on a holiday, again with the Rowlands and a group from the Tab to Capernwray Hall which was absolutely wonderful in every way.
