Missionary Convention

Stella’s Story

The missionary Convention held in the school room in November was one of the highlights of the year. Different missionary societies would have stalls all around the room with leaflets and information about their work.  Visiting preachers would deliver a talk or sermon and one of the hymns we sang was “Bibleless tribes who never have heard, even one message of God’s holy word” etc. Toxteth Tabernacle sent lots of it’s members out to the mission field, including Joyce Ritchie. My uncle was a church minister and he came to a conference at the Tab.
