50 years at the Tab

Anne’s Story

Over the years I have played in the worship group, taught in Sunday School, done youth work and had paid employment in both Preschool and Level 3. I was a church leader for 19 years. For our family, the Tab has been a venue for parties, baby dedications, weddings and baptisms, as well as a place to worship and hear God’s word preached.

Like life, Church membership has not been all joy, and there have been times of sadness, pain and doubts.  I have lived through difficult church meetings (and many more encouraging ones) and at points wondered if it is time to move on.  When I first came to the Tab, the 100-year anniversary celebrations were fresh in people’s minds, and, at 17 I thought ‘Wow, 100 years, what a long time!’.  Now, 50 years later, I can’t quite get my head round the fact that I have been involved in the Tab for almost a third of its life!!!   Time goes by so fast, but God is faithful, and He never changes – that seems a good place to end!
